Opposite People is an afrobeat/funk/world music dance band from Boston. We specialize in performing at outdoor, community events around the Boston area, including numerous appearances at the Jamaica Pond Lantern Parade, Wake Up the Earth Festival, Hyde Park Traffic Jam, Somerville Porchfest, Roslindale Farmer’s Market, Egleston Square and East Somerville Main Streets, and many more.
Additionally, we have performed at benefits for many organizations doing good work in Boston’s diverse communities, including Spontaneous Celebrations, Somerville Groundworks, Voces De Cambio, the Boston Interpreter’s Collaborative, Heath St. Project Housing, Hyde Park Arts Initiative, Alternatives for Community & Environment, Discover Roxbury, and the Somerville Community Corporation.
